Greg Allen/NPR Foord's ardour for elevating corals, the colourful colonies of tiny animals that construct large underwater reefs, is rooted in each science and artwork. He is one of many founders of "Coral Morphologic," an arts and science group dedicated to researching and documenting coral reefs.

Courtesy of the Reefline Reefline is funded partly by town of Miami Seashore by a $5 million bond accredited by voters. Caminos, the venture's creative director, is spearheading a marketing campaign to lift $6 million extra to fund its first section.
