On this version of our arts24 music present, Jennifer Ben Brahim chats with Franco-Togolese singer Laura Prince. She’s simply launched her second album “Adjoko”, a voyage between reminiscence, identification and authenticity. “Adjoko” is Laura’s Togolese title, and symbolises her quest to reconnect together with her African roots. She produced the document between France, Togo and Ouidah in Benin, a port city well-known for its darkish function within the slave commerce. She additionally references her West African hyperlinks to slavery via her title Laura Prince. It is an homage to creator Mary Prince, the primary Black girl to publish a ebook about her experiences as a slave.
