Navy technician arrested for false bomb risk on Hawaiian Airways flight in San Diego

[ad_1] A U.S. Navy technician was recognized because the suspect charged with making a false bomb risk on board a Hawaiian Airways flight making ready to take off from San Diego.

The Port of San Diego Harbor Police Division introduced that John Stea, 35, was arrested following Tuesday’s incident.

"The suspect was onboard Hawaiian Airways flight 15 when he advised a flight attendant the passenger subsequent to him had a bomb. The flight attendant knowledgeable the captain of the aircraft in regards to the potential risk because the flight was pulling away from the jetway and on the point of depart the San Diego Worldwide Airport to Honolulu, Hawaii," it stated in an announcement.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Third Fleet told KITV that "Electronics Technician 1st Class John Stea, assigned to Maritime Expeditionary Safety Group One, was arrested by San Diego Harbor Police on Could 20 following an alleged bomb risk.

"The security of the general public and our personnel is of utmost significance to the Navy. We take all threats severely and are cooperating totally with native and federal authorities," the spokesperson added.

U.S. Third Fleet didn't instantly reply Wednesday to a request for remark from Fox Information Digital.

"The Port of San Diego Harbor Police Maritime Tactical Group, Okay-9 Group, and Joint Terrorism Process Pressure, together with the San Diego Hearth Division and a number of federal businesses, responded to the scene to search the aircraft and its contents," the Port of San Diego Harbor Police Division stated.

"The aircraft captain had taxied to a secure location on the airfield. All 293 individuals onboard had been deplaned and transported by bus to a secure space. Okay-9s cleared the plane together with all carry-on and checked baggage," it added.

Stea, described by police as a "member of the army," was charged with making a false bomb risk and false report of a safety risk.

Isai Solorzano, one other Navy sailor who was on the flight, advised FOX 5 KUSI what he witnessed, explaining that legislation enforcement officers boarded the aircraft and requested in regards to the proprietor of some particular containers.
