On Monday evening, Pittsburgh took an enormous step towards the playoffs by leaping the New York Islanders for the No. 2 seed within the division after an offensive explosion in an 8-3 victory over New York. The Penguins now sit with 90 factors on the season, one above the Islanders, and still have a recreation in hand towards New York, which has performed 75 video games to Pittsburgh’s 74.
