Regardless of Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso’s exit from ECOWAS, Fee President Omar Alieu Touray instructed FRANCE 24 that he stays hopeful West Africa will keep united. He highlighted the bloc’s success in creating “a single marketplace for 400 million individuals” over 50 years. Whereas acknowledging challenges, Touray emphasised that ECOWAS leaders will “maintain the door open” to the three international locations, even after the July deadline for potential re-entry.
