Alang, India – Standing on the windswept shoreline of the Arabian Sea within the western Indian state of Gujarat, Ramakant Singh appears to be like in direction of the empty, infinite horizon.
“Within the olden days, ships lined up at this yard like buffaloes earlier than a storm,” says the 47-year-old. “Now, we depend the arrivals on our fingers.”
