The mother and father of a teen who died by suicide after ChatGPT coached him on strategies of self hurt sued OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman on Tuesday, saying the corporate knowingly put revenue above security when it launched the GPT-4o model of its synthetic intelligence chatbot final 12 months.
Adam Raine, 16, died on April 11 after discussing suicide with ChatGPT for months, in response to the lawsuit that Raine’s mother and father filed in San Francisco state courtroom.
