Syria’s interim authorities mentioned sectarian clashes within the Druze province of Sweida had been “halted” on Sunday as safety forces redeployed to the southern area and tribal forces that had converged on Sweida withdrew. The federal government has struggled to implement a US-brokered ceasefire deal designed to avert additional Israeli navy intervention in help of the Druze minority.
