Rep. Torres tells ICE to ‘get out of LA,’ faces conservative backlash

A California Democratic lawmaker was broadly criticized by conservatives on social media after posting a message on-line telling federal brokers arresting unlawful immigrants in Los Angeles to "get the f--- out."

"ICE get the f--- out of LA in order that order could be restored," Rep. Norma Torres posted on TikTok Friday as protests and riots have been breaking out over the raids. Conservatives on social media rapidly reacted to the video, accusing Torres, who was born in Guatemala and have become a U.S. citizen within the Nineteen Nineties, of fomenting the violence and vitriol in opposition to ICE officers that unfolded over the following few days.

‘Torres is a sitting member of Congress and a whole lunatic," conservative influencer Paul Szypula posted on X.

"Demonic possession," White Home director of communications Steven Cheung posted on X.

Conservative influencer Benny Johnson known as Torres "deranged" in a post on X and a number of other customers, together with Arizona state Sen. Wendy Rogers, known as for Torres to be expelled from Congress.

"Arrest her now," the conservative influencer account Catturd posted on X.

"Discovered a Communist in Congress," writer James Lindsay posted on X.

President Trump despatched 2,000 Nationwide Guard troopers to Los Angeles to assist "preserve peace" as immigration protests descended into riots, and to stop a repeat of the 2020 unrest that noticed the Democratic governor of Minnesota "let his metropolis burn," Secretary of Homeland Safety Kristi Noem said on Sunday.
