The century-old duty-free import exemption that reworked American on-line procuring has ended, The Atlantic argues, closing a loophole that allowed packages valued beneath $800 to enter the USA with out tariffs. The de minimis threshold, raised from $200 in 2016, processed thousands and thousands of day by day shipments immediately from abroad sellers to American customers.
