The European Union has launched a proper investigation into Meta over antitrust issues with AI restrictions in WhatsApp. The probe goals to “forestall any potential irreparable hurt to competitors within the AI house” in line with the EU, and follows Meta saying adjustments to WhatsApp’s phrases for companies in October that may prohibit firms from utilizing the platform’s API to distribute third-party AI chatbots.
