Egypt finally opened the $1 billion Grand Egyptian Museum on Saturday as performers wearing white tunics embroidered with designs impressed by historic frescoes, greeted friends. Dozens of performers wearing elaborate Pharaonic costumes, their foreheads topped with golden wreaths and sceptres in hand, performed conventional tunes as a laser present depicting pharaohs and fireworks lit up the night time sky above the museum.
