At 43 years-old, I can look again at my life with a deep sense of satisfaction — and, if I’m sincere, a contact of longing. I’ve spent my whole grownup life constructing my profession, climbing ladders, taking dangers, and proving to myself that I may very well be impartial and profitable. And in some ways, I’ve achieved precisely what I got down to do.
