Threats towards Le Pen trial judges 'reek of 1934', researcher says

Judges who convicted Marine Le Pen on embezzlement expenses and banned the far-right politician from public workplace for 5 years have confronted dying threats for the reason that sentencing earlier this week. FRANCE 24’s Sharon Gaffney speaks to Andrew Smith, lecturer in liberal arts at Queen Mary, College of London. He says that the ramping up of rhetoric towards the judiciary is especially harmful and ‘it reeks of 1934’.
