Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, have delivered an ultimatum to Hamas, warning the militant group to just accept their 20-point peace plan for Gaza or face the results.

However it was clear that Hamas had not been consulted and its place on the phrases remained unsure.
