President Donald Trump attended the Washington Commanders sport towards the Detroit Lions at Northwest Stadium in Maryland on Sunday to observe the Air Drive One flyover and take part within the Veterans’ Day “Salute to Service” halftime ceremony.
The sport was a part of the NFL’s “Salute to Service” initiative, honoring army service members, veterans, and their households.
Earlier this week, Commanders membership president Mark Clouse said that the group is “honored to welcome President Trump to the sport as we rejoice those that have served and proceed to serve our nation.”
“Your complete Commanders group is proud to take part within the NFL’s league-wide Salute to Service initiative, recognizing the dedication and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans, active-duty service members, and their households this Sunday,” he added.
In his attendance, President Trump turned the primary sitting president to attend a regular-season NFL sport since Jimmy Carter in 1978.

Air Drive One was seen flying over the stadium shortly after the sport started.
“I’m a bit of bit late,” Trump said on his method to the stadium. “We’re gonna have a very good sport. Issues are going alongside very nicely. The nation’s doing nicely. The Democrats must open it up.”
The president was anticipated to take a seat with the Commanders’ principal proprietor, Josh Harris, who not too long ago negotiated with White Home officers to safe approval to construct a state-of-the-art stadium in Washington.
