On Monday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Supply,” Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) responded to arguments from Texas State Rep. Brian Harrison (R) that Democratic states, like Illinois, have gerrymandered their maps by saying that what Texas is doing “isn’t the results of what occurred in Illinois on the final Census. What it’s is a response to Trump’s order,” and “I want to see nonpartisan citizen commissions everywhere in the nation.”
Host Kaitlan Collins requested, “Congressman Doggett…does Brian Harrison have some extent when he says, effectively, take a look at Illinois and their thirteenth district and the way it’s drawn? … [S]aying, this very interestingly-carved district is occurring in Illinois, why can’t it occur in Texas?”
