The choice, introduced alongside recognition by Canada and Australia, comes as Israel continues its lethal destruction in Gaza.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has introduced the UK’s determination to formally recognise a Palestinian state greater than 100 years after the Balfour Declaration backed “the institution in Palestine of a nationwide residence for the Jewish folks”, and 77 years after the creation of Israel within the British Mandate of Palestine.
“Within the face of the rising horror within the Center East, we’re performing to maintain alive the opportunity of peace and of a two-state answer,” Starmer mentioned in a video assertion Sunday.
