UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Tuesday mentioned London would formally acknowledge a Palestinian state on the UN Normal Meeting in September except Israel takes “substantive steps to finish the appalling state of affairs in Gaza.” The transfer comes on the heels of French President Emmanuel Macron’s announcement that France will acknowledge the state of Palestine on the UN gathering, as Israel faces mounting pressure over the catastrophic humanitarian state of affairs in Gaza.
