The UN safety council has endorsed proposals put ahead by Donald Trump for a long-lasting peace in Gaza, together with the deployment of an international stabilisation force and a doable path to a sovereign Palestinian state.
The decision, handed by a vote of 13-0 with abstentions by China and Russia, charted “a brand new course within the Center East for Israelis and Palestinians and all of the individuals of the area alike”, the US envoy to the UN, Mike Waltz, instructed the council chamber.
