The federal government is taking the unsuitable method by instructing vocational {qualifications} within the classroom (Editorial, 15 March). Vocational coaching ought to happen primarily within the office and employers must be compelled to incorporate related coaching and qualification packages for all employees.
I’ve had two completely different experiences of this. After I first left faculty I entered an apprenticeship in my native printing agency. They made me competent in what they did however refused to permit me to take a day-release course (that I had organized for myself) for concern that it could result in my leaving the corporate. I left the trade for tertiary schooling.
