Throughout an interview with ABC Information on Monday, Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) stated that, within the battle over funding for the Division of Homeland Safety, Democrats have pushed to “hold ICE out of our airports, and don’t fund this reckless company till there’s actual, large reforms, if in any respect, as a result of the way in which they’re doing immigration enforcement proper now could be harmful.”
Booker stated, “[N]ow the president says he’s going to pay TSA, which we’re beginning to see occur. Why didn’t he simply do that months in the past? It’s what Democrats have been asking, pay TSA, hold ICE out of our airports, and don’t fund this reckless company till there’s actual, large reforms, if in any respect, as a result of the way in which they’re doing immigration enforcement proper now could be harmful. They’re hurting Individuals, detaining Individuals, and we’ve seen killing them.”
