As a sixth-generation Iowa farmer, Tanner Faaborg is all too conscious that agricultural traditions are exhausting to shake. So when he set in movement plans to vary his household’s farm from a livestock operation housing greater than 8,000 pigs every year to 1 that grows lion’s mane and oyster mushrooms, he knew a few of his friends may giggle at him.
