A petition referred to as ‘Lebanon is not going to be the subsequent Gaza’ calls on French leaders to take motion

As France’s President Emmanuel Macron is seen as a key guarantor of the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, civil society actors have launched a petition titled ‘Lebanon is not going to be the subsequent Gaza’, calling on him to behave. The initiative has been signed by quite a few French public figures. Marie Yared, Senior International Campaigner on the Avaaz Basis, explains that the petition comes amid considerations that final 12 months’s ceasefire was repeatedly violated by Israel, and urges European leaders to make sure the present truce holds to keep away from a repeat of what occurred in Gaza.
