A two-alarm hearth erupted inside a lab on the College of South Florida in St. Petersburg on Saturday, and video exhibits inexperienced flames popping out of the constructing.
The blaze on the college’s Marine Science Laboratory was reported when a witness noticed the flames from outdoors, based on Fox 13.
Roughly 200 firefighters and a number of models rushed to the scene to quell the blaze and St. Petersburg Fireplace District Chief Michael Lewis advised the outlet on Saturday crews would monitor the scene in a single day.
“We’re simply mopping up some hotspots. We’re going via and confirming all the hazardous supplies that had been on scene. That is going to be a really in depth course of to undergo, verify that there is no such thing as a energetic hearth impinging upon any of the hazardous supplies,” he defined.

The smoke was seen by witnesses miles away from the realm, and officers mentioned it could take a while to make sure there have been no chemical leaks contained in the constructing.
Officers mentioned nobody was injured because of this and everybody was accounted for after the hearth was introduced down.
